Things are interesting with the Poco X3 Pro performance levels, and it’s more or less all good news. The weird thing here is that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 is effectively just a rebranded Snapdragon 855+. In performance terms, it’s not quite at the same level as last year’s high-end flagships, but it’s still very capable. The design and software might not be for everyone, but if they appeal to you, you are looking at the perfect phone you can buy right now. It should be a no-brainer if you are looking for a new phone in this price category. The Poco X3 Pro’s camera will be an upgrade over almost every budget and mid-range phone from previous years. The huge circular camera island looks obnoxious in my opinion.
In low light conditions, image quality takes a massive hit. Lights appear fuzzy and shadows don’t look defined either. Night Mode helps a bit, but adds a lot of over-sharpening to compensate for the lack of detail. The display has a ghosting issue, which is especially noticeable when scrolling through notifications and web pages. I assume it is due to the IPS panel’s slow pixel response time.
The battery life on the POCO X3 Pro is outstanding, largely thanks to the 5160 mAh battery in tow. It can charge at 33W using the included charger in the box and will power through pretty much anything that you throw at it. The phone charges in roughly under an hour, and I had no issue getting through a day of use on a single charge. Poco clearly had one goal in mind for the X3 Pro, and that was to deliver the best possible CPU performance at around the Rs. 20,000 price level.

Because it’s an LCD, blacks don’t always necessarily look like blacks, and you won’t benefit from a rich contrast ratio that can be found on AMOLED panels as a result. Moving on to hardware, the Poco X3 Pro boasts one of the most powerful chipsets in this price segment, the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 860. Yes, it is a rebadged variant of the Snapdragon 855+, but there are a few tweaks such as a higher clock speed. It also supports new camera features like ultra-wide lens night mode and selfie night mode. Poco X3 Pro with its 48 MP main lens can shoot some very detailed, crisp, and colourful photos when it is subjected to lots of light.
